The movie was filmed on location in the towns of Inverness, Point Reyes Station, Bodega Bay and Tomales Bay, tiny coastal towns in Marin County, about 40 miles north of San Francisco. The house used for Stevie Wayne is in Inverness, CA. The current owners have tried to disguise it somewhat in order to deter gawkers but it is the house.
