Sep 25, 2024 · Crockett was the eldest grandson of the famous Davy Crockett, and he had moved to this area from Memphis when he was twenty-four years old, settling first in the Mount Adams/Crockett’s Bluff area. Also in 1889, Stuttgart College was built at the south end of College Street, and a horse-drawn streetcar started its run from the depot to the fairgrounds.

May 25, 2021 · Robert H. Crockett joined a new company being organized in Arkansas County as a private on February 24, 1862. He was not to remain that rank long though. This unit became Company E of the 18th Arkansas Infantry and Crockett was soon elected major. Crockett and the other men of the 18th moved to Corinth, Mississippi where they first saw action.
