AP Biology is an introductory college-level biology course. Students cultivate their understanding of biology through inquiry-based investigations as they explore topics like evolution, energetics, information storage and transfer, and system interactions.
To give teachers more clarity about course content and help students engage with the concepts, we’re planning updates to the AP Biology course framework. The earliest implementation of these updates will be the 2025-26 school year.

AP periodically updates or revises courses to reflect current developments in each discipline, ensure alignment with introductory college courses, and more clearly communicate the required course content and skills.
