    • Roman Rapids. Roman Rapids is a must for any summertime visit to the park. It’s a quintessential white-water rafting ride through some Roman ruins and waterfalls underneath Apollo’s Chariot.
    • Escape From Pompeii. Aside from being haunted, Escape From Pompeii is a shoot-the-chutes water ride themed to the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. It takes riders through ancient ruins, complete with fire special effects, before sending the boat plummeting 50 feet.
    • Finnegan’s Flyer. Finnegan’s Flyer is one of the newer thrill rides, located in the Ireland section. On it, you’ll be soaring 80 feet into the air at a swift 45 mph.
    • Busch Gardens Railway. The Busch Gardens Railway is a classic, laid-back experience steeped in nostalgia with the charm of old-world locomotives. It’s the best way to get off your feet, enjoy gorgeous views of the entire park, and traverse the large park.
    • Pantheon. New for the 2022 season, after a particularly agonising series of delays, Busch Gardens Williamsburg finally opened their Intamin multi-launch coaster.
    • Verbolten. I have to admit that I was surprised to walk away from Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2019 with Verbolten as my favourite ride in the park.
    • Apollo’s Chariot. The main aim of most hyper coasters is to provide you with a plentiful supply of large hills and a great deal of speed with which to experience them.
    • Alpengeist. B&M inverts used to be one of my favourite ride types. The first few that I encountered were all smooth, stupidly intense and offered well varied layouts so I was firmly of the belief that you could’t go wrong with one of these.

    4) Verbolten The first coaster in our “thrill seekers” category is the second Zierer coaster on our list, Verbolten. A ride on Verbolten starts innocently enough as riders meander through an S-curve before being launched into the darkness of the Black Forest. While we won’t spoil what’s inside the forest, after you come out, you’re launched again i...

Unlike Apollo’s Chariot, Griffon takes that drop at 90º, and launches immediately into the first of two immelman loop inversions. Griffon then repeats these elements again on a smaller scale before a splash down fi...
