"Important" choices have what Tell Me Why considers "consequences."

These bigger choices and challenges will be sectioned off with the "Important Choice" header on this page.

Chapter 2 of Tell Me Why begins with a picture book story of the two crafty goblins, aka the twins, trying to uncover why darkness has fallen at the big wooden house they grew up at. We can also tell from the story, that some of the people in town are represented by the animals in the forest in the stories. After the storybook, you will also see cut scenes of the twins with their mom when they were kids. Eventually, you will gain control of Alyson.

Objective: Sort the bottom floor furniture

All you need to do to progress is clean the coffee table in front of the fireplace, and then look at some photos on the wall with Tyler, but there are a few optional things to do that will help you solve a puzzle coming up soon.

    Optional:

    1. Watch a memory of Sam in the kitchen 2. Watch a memory of Eddy in the living room (should appear after cleaning the coffee table) 3. Go upstairs and knock a paper plane down from the the chandelier 4. Look at the monkey stuffed animal in front of the twins room, and then watch a memory with Tessa on the balcony

Note: While at the coffee table, keep making the moo sound with the canister until Tyler reacts and says "I guess that is pretty funny" to get the achievement "Moo'd Changer"

Alyson then puts the pictures on the kitchen table, suggesting the Woodland friends represent real people in the town. It's now your job to pair each person with each animal. Looking through the Book of Goblins, you'll find stories that are fairly similar to the memories you just watched around the house. Specifically, the Moose Teaches the Goblins, The Pelican Helps Her Friends, and the Bear's Big Paws. Those stories, combined with what you've learned about Eddy, Sam, and Tessa so far, should clue you in on who is who.

    •Tessa is the Pious Pelican

    •Eddy is the Moose

    •Sam is the Bear

In other words, the Pelican should be in the left, the Moose should be in a center, and the Bear should be on the right. Show it to Tyler when you're done to get you the achievement Guess Who.

After figuring out who inspired the Book of Goblins characters, look at the picture of the Mad Hunter to trigger another memory. Concerningly, the twins have possibly seen the Mad Hunter for real, and as they discuss that possibility, Sam comes to the door. He apologizes to Tyler, and offers Alyson a salmon dinner. However, because the house still has no electricity to actually cook the salmon, he offers to help fix the fuse box.

Make a left out of the house towards the green barn. You'll find out Sam still has some of your keys, and regardless of how you respond Tyler will demand them back. After Tyler and Sam break the door open, head inside the barn. The fuse box is directly to your left.

You have to figure out where to put which fuse. There's a note from Sam on the right explaining that you need to put the 15 amp fuses for the garage, and the amps total go up to 120. They should also be color coded. There's a visual diagram right above the note showing where everything goes. From these notes, and from putting a 15 amp fuse in the garage slot, we know blue fuses are 15 amps are should be placed where blue wires lead.

There's only one other blue wire, so place another 15 amp fuse there. Now, it's just a matter of math. The total amps need to be 120, and 30 are already taken by the two blue fuses. There are four remaining slots, and three of them must be yellow, and one must be red. because there are only 90 amps left, the yellow fuses must be 20 amps, and the single red one must be 30. Refer to the image below for easy reference.

    •Red = 30amp

    •Yellow = 20amp

    •Blue = 15amp

In the memory, you'll see the twins eavesdropping on officer Brown and their mom. After watching a few more memories, you'll again have to choose between Alyson's and Tyler's versions of events.

For the "better" choice, side with Tyler.

During the drive, Alyson will get a call from the realtor, who will ask whether someone can come by to see the house the day after tomorrow.

Choose "it's not the right time" for the better option.

After making the choice, you can wander around a little bit, and look at an old bulletin board. You can find Tyler to the left of that board.

Tyler and Alyson will continue the argument they started in the car.

At the Police Station, officer Wilson will welcome you at the reception desk. You can talk to her more if you choose to. You can also talk to the other officers in the office if you'd like, but otherwise you can interrupt Eddy's conversation at the desk behind reception.

Eddy will say he's too busy to speak with them. So, the twins decide to snoop around themselves. If you try to go upstairs, you'll get called out. Refer to the map of the building on the wall in the front room to find a different path.

Tyler needs to make a scene so Alyson unlock a door. There are a few options, but only two of them will work. You can either knock over a stack of files, or you can turn off the light switch next to the reception opening on the office side. Both will get you the same results.

During the distraction, Alyson will be able to go upstairs and unlock the door for you. Head outside, making the excuse that you need to smoke, and make a right to find the outside stairway upstairs.

Wile poking around Eddy's office, you'll find some papers in the back corner. Read them to find out about how Eddy has been supporting Tyler. But you also learn some unsettling things about how Eddy has lied to Alison in the past as well.

Collectible: Open the drawer on left side of Eddy's desk in the center of the room to find the stalwart moose

    "Dum Da Dee Doo"

You can tell which numbers are used often based on how worn they are, which narrows it down. Here is the code.

Once inside, you want to find a box that has these numbers: 05-r68

It's ahead of you to your right. you won't seem to learn anything you don't already know after putting box back hatch the computer in the back corner of the room to get a new reference number.

Put in the only two keywords available. Now, find the Box 05-R62766, the a utopsy report. I's already open on the table.

After going over those files and learning more about your mother's death, head back to the computer and try new tags. There are a lot to choose from - the ones in bold are necessary to continue the story, or award achievements.

Enter "Ronan Children" "Mary-Ann Ronan" For 05-R61889, the crime report

At this point, Eddy will approach. Tell Alyson to tell him you're in the bathroom, or to get him in the office, to buy you more time.
