Oct 13, 2010 · That the “righteousness of God” refers to a divine gift is clear from Philippians 3:9, where Paul speaks of “the righteousness from God” (tēn ek theou dikaiosynēn). The righteousness is not Paul’s own, deriving from his observance of the law. It is a righteousness from God himself, obtained by faith in Jesus Christ.
