Jul 23, 2020 · Choosing the right value of θ is important, but not for all applications. For example, when calculating Ksn, it may be good to use a value of 0.45 because Ksn values are then intuitive and comparable to others who used this commonly applied value. I am not sure why a value of 0.45 would result in a smoother representation of the terrain.
between 0.3 and 0.8 and often takes on the value 0.45. It can be determined either based on slope- area plots (see function slopearea) or -plots (see function chiplot).
Jul 14, 2021 · K sn is one of the standard topographic metrics used in tectonic geomorphology. Based on the stream-power model it is typically interpreted as a proxy for rock uplift, provided steady state topography. Often, we are interested in the mean k sn of a drainage basin.
The two different references concavities used to calculate ksn are based on the commonly used value (0.45) for comparison with other studies and the best‐fit value from the inverse model (0.30).
Apr 21, 2021 · The thick black line is the average Ksn value and the gray patch denote the 90%-acceptance intervals around the average Ksn. Here, it is interesting to note that the acceptance intervals are narrower for upstream areas and increase downstream.
The solid line represents the median ksn value over the whole area. (b, c, and d): maps of ksn values corresponding to (a), respectively for θref equal to 0.3, 0.45, and 0.6. The spatial pattern ...
