The resurrection of Jesus (Biblical Greek: ἀνάστασις τοῦ Ἰησοῦ, romanized: anástasis toú Iēsoú) is the Christian belief that God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day [note 1] after his crucifixion, starting – or restoring [web 1] [note 2] – his exalted life as Christ and Lord.

RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST (ἀνάστασις, G414, and [once] ἐγερσις). After Jesus Christ died and was buried on Good Friday, He was raised from the dead in body and soul on the first day of the week. His resurrection was not a mere resuscitation, as was the case with Lazarus and others whose resurrections are recorded in Scripture.
There have been many opinions about Jesus’ resurrection, but the one thing that almost everyone has agreed on is that Jesus is a real person who really did live and really was crucified by the Romans. But to rise from the dead, Jesus would have had to have actually died.
