Oct 18, 2022 · 1. There is no verse in the OT that indicates that the firstborn birthright, the (בכורה), was given to, or will be given to Judah. A very weak case for Judah receiving the firstborn birthright is often attempted from Genesis 49:8. The verses in question in the OP, I Chronicles 5:1-2 make the case that the birthright belongs to Joseph.
