May 29, 2024 · The film with the most recognizable scenes from Glen Coe is probably Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, with Glen Coe serving as the location for Hagrid’s Hut. For the filming, a full set was built on location at Glen Coe complete with the surrounding pumpkin patch, gate house, bridge, and sundial stone circle.
Harry Potter In Glencoe. Filming for the third Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, took place on location in Glencoe in May and June 2003. Regular visitors to Clachaig Inn and Glencoe will spot a familiar looking backdrop in the film, and in subsequent Harry Potter films.

Jul 27, 2024 · The production team for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban built Hagrid’s Hut on location at Clachaig Gully in Glencoe, Scotland. The team set up three sets near Clachaig Inn for filming in May and June of 2003.
Although they were based in Glen Nevis, many scenes were shot in Glencoe and its immediate surroundings for both films. The summer of 2003 saw the arrival of Warner Brothers and the Harry Potter team to film the outside outside shots for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
