I own the Empyrean, Stellia, HD800S, and am about to own a Verite open in the next few weeks. Stellia is my favorite all around headphone. Empyrean isn't as detailed but has bass for days - can get muddy but I'm into it. HD800S is my go to for classical music. At the end of the day, I just reach for my Stellia the most.
I agree with the technical performance of the Stellia over the Empyrean.Have the former and could buy the latter for $2000 but didn't see the need to.Stellia is way more detailed,faster transients and better controlled lows.The Empys were warmer,quite musical but the detail and overall technical performance does not belong to the $3000 tier.
Apr 12, 2019 · I have the Stellia in bound for a review,and previously reviewed the Empyrean (my youtube channel link in signature below) The Empyrean is a warm,relaxed sound,with very tight clean bass,and very good 3D imaging. I havent yet heard the Stellia,but if its anything like the Utopia,it will be brighter and more energetic.
Jul 7, 2022 · Looking to upgrade my headphones. Pretty much tied to these two as options. The Meze is open and I'd prefer closed however I'm intrigued by the appearance and the tech innovation. The Focal is closed, which I prefer, and I've heard some opinions that it's particularly good for classical--which is 80% of what I listen to.
