Louis Pasteur University Institute of Technology (IUT Louis Pasteur) The Institute provides courses in the following areas of studies: biological engineering, industrial engineering and maintenance, physical measurements as well as corporate and administrative management.
Both the Institut Pasteur and Université Louis Pasteur were named after Pasteur. The schools Lycée Pasteur in Neuilly-sur-Seine , France, and Lycée Louis Pasteur in Calgary, Alberta , Canada, are named after him.

Among Louis Pasteur’s discoveries were molecular asymmetry, the fact that molecules can have the same chemical composition with different structures; that fermentation is caused by microorganisms; and that virulence can be increased as well as decreased. He also disproved the theory of spontaneous generation and contributed to germ theory and the study of infectious disease.
