    • 5. Vince Schneider (Kyle Gallner) Because Scream makes the bold decision to see the victim of its opening scene survive her brutal assault, Vince (Kyle Gallner) is actually the first big-screen Scream kill in over a decade, so there's shock value right there, even if the demise of Woodsboro's resident bad boy was inevitable.
    • 4. Liv McKenzie (Sonia Ben Ammar) Tara and Sam's (Melissa Barrera) circle of teen friends has no shortage of red herrings; among them is the ill-fated Liv (Sonia Ben Ammar).
    • 3. Judy Hicks (Marley Shelton) One of the wrinkles of otherwise mostly great Scream 4 (still arguably the best sequel, definitely the most underrated) is the underdeveloped character of Deputy Judy Hicks (Marley Shelto n), who mainly existed in that film as a background red herring, and—in just one or two scenes—a mild stressor in Dewey (David Arquett e) and Gale (Courteney Cox)'s marriage.
    • Wes Hicks (Dylan Minnette) Though he doesn't get much screen time before he gets a hunting knife to the throat, Wes is easily the most likable teen to die in this Scream, and the back-to-back murders of mother and son are undeniably sad and unsettling.
