White Line Fever Trucker Carrol Jo Hummer (Jan-Michael Vincent) borrows money to purchase a truck of his own, only to discover that part of his "payment plan" includes smuggling goods on his trips. When Carrol refuses to participate in the underhanded scheme, a group of thugs threaten his wife (Kay Lenz), leading Carrol to fight back with a vengeance.
The film consists of three parts: a half-hour filmed in New York, a half-hour report of hitchhiking from the east to the west coast, and again another half hour in New York. The images are edited in a quick sequence; in some cases, the shots are only one frame in length.

Nevertheless, White Line Fever is energetic and delivers generous helpings of action. It's essentially a contemporary western in which the main character drives a truck instead of riding a horse, and Kaplan -- along with screenwriter Ken Friedman -- decided to incorporate some fitting, Sam Peckinpah -inspired atmosphere into this project.
