Awesome. Maigret is the best, played so, so well by Jean Gabin, who was charm and naturalism and cool and smarts personified. The Marais sets look great, the mystery is solid, the supporting cast excellent, especially Maigret’s team of cops, who do superb, and often very slyly funny, work in the background as Maigret grills his suspects. Sublime.
