Book author Sean Kief is a descendant of the Dunty family who owned the Mansion from 1888-1915. Kief's grandmother, Myrl Dunty, was born in the mansion in 1915.

Erected high on a hill above the Gunpowder River Valley, Perry Hall Mansion dominated life in northeastern Baltimore County in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Built in the 1770s by Harry Dorsey Gough, Perry Hall was named after the family castle near Birmingham England.

Aug 18, 2023 · In 1999, I worked with local volunteers to have the Perry Hall Mansion designated as a historic landmark. Baltimore County purchased the mansion and provided funding, along with state resources, to stabilize the structure.
