Everything is debatable, in my opinion, the top three spots should include characters with depth and richness, intriguing and evolving, such as Harry Potter, Voldemort, and Snape. Then come the characters who provide great support, like Hermione, Ron, Lupin, Dumbledore, McGonagall or Hagrid.
Hermione, Harry, Dumbledore, Voldemort, Snape, Fred/George, Neville, Ron, Bellatrix. Dobby and Lupin have always been my favourites, as was Ron for the longest time, but I felt that I really went off Ron on my most recent re-read. Harry, Voldemort, Dumbledore, Hagrid, Snape and Hermione are all amazing characters too.
