The Villanova Voices women's chorus is the oldest women's organization at the university. Villanova University Founded 1842. In 1841, Augustinian friars purchased the Rudolph Estate outside Philadelphia with the intention of building a college. Fr. John Possidius O'Dwyer was the first president of the school, originally named Augustinian College and placed under the patronage of St. Thomas of Villanova.
