Alan Howarth (composer) Alan Howarth (born 1948) is an American composer and sound designer who has worked on soundtracks for Hollywood films including the Star Trek and Halloween series, and is known for his collaborations with film director and composer John Carpenter.
Carpenter – who wrote, directed, and composed the original – enlisted composer and sound designer Alan Howarth to collaborate on the music for Halloween II. Howarth went on to score several Halloween movies through 1995, each time reshaping and expanding Carpenter's original impression.
