  1. Jan 12, 2022 · As villains, friends, family, or romantic interests, the ladies of Harry Potter add a lot to the table. Not every female character is likable, but they still provide powerful contributions to the overall arc, making the story much better.

    • Lily Potter. When looking at the bigger picture, Lily Potter is a minor character in the movies. However, she has one of the most important roles. As Harry’s mother, Lily was a powerful and accomplished witch who passed down many of her greatest traits to him.
    • Ginny Weasley. Similar to other supporting characters, Ginny's character arc wasn’t nearly as developed as the books' version. Ginny was introduced as the shy and intimidated youngest Weasley, however, she later formed her own identity and displayed great bravery when she actively fought in The Battle of Hogwarts.
    • Nymphadora Tonks. Tonks' character arc was explored in greater depth within the books, however, she is still a memorable and beloved character in the movies.
    • Hedwig. Hedwig is often a character that gets forgotten in the grand scheme of things. While she features significantly less than others, she was one of Harry's first friends in the wizarding world and remained his trusting companion throughout the movies.
    • Sage Young
    • Hermione Granger. The brightest witch of her age! Hermione Granger has such an arc over the course of the eight Harry Potter films. She comes to Hogwarts ready to put her head down and get to work, but quickly adapts to a world that sometimes requires more action than study.
    • Minerva McGonagall. My only complaint about Minerva McGonagall, the source of tough love for generations of budding wizards and witches, is that she has zero personal life.
    • Molly Weasley. Molly Weasley is a straight-up queen. She runs a tight ship at the Burrow, but she instantly opens her heart to her son's orphaned friend.
    • Luna Lovegood. It takes a big personality to be known as the "weird girl" in a school full of witches and wizards. Luna Lovegood is the poster child for being yourself and knowing that the people who really matter will have no trouble seeing your value.
    • Hermione Granger. “Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself.” Arguably the most famous female character in Harry Potter, Hermione was a dedicated student who always strived to be the best no matter what it took.
    • Luna Lovegood. “I’ve interrupted a deep thought, haven’t I? I can see it growing smaller in your eyes.” At first glance, Luna is easily identifiable as an outsider and a bit odd.
    • Molly Weasley. “Not my daughter, YOU B*TCH.” The matriarch of the Weasley family, Mrs. Weasley is as warm-hearted and maternal as they come. Over the course of the series, she welcomed Harry into her home like a son, feeding him, doting on him — even when she had reasons to be scared for her own children’s safety.
    • Cho Chang. “You really are a good teacher, Harry.” Cho was Harry’s first love interest in the series. She is known for her bravery and compassion when it came to standing up against injustice, especially when it came to protecting her friends.

  4. Mar 4, 2022 · Narcissa has practiced Dark Arts and is a powerful duelist, easily on par with most Death Eaters as well as an expert at Apparition. Notably, she also has the power of love – the most potent kind of magic – making her oddly similar to the late Lily Potter.
