Yaya (夜 や 々 や Yaya) is the main female character of the Unbreakable Machine-Doll series. She is a Banned Doll; one of the Setsugetsuka series; the younger sister of Irori and the elder sister of Komurasaki and represents the Moon (月 Tsuki), and the automaton that Shouko Karyuusai chose to lend Raishin Akabane due to their compatibility.
Yaya is a Banned Doll and is one of the Karyuusai brand's Setsugetsuka series created by Shouko Karyuusai. She has black hair and wears a black kimono together with, originally, a pair of black geta which was replaced by a pair of black (dark brown) boots after the train incident.
A puppeteer named Raishin Akabane comes from Japan to Liverpool to study at Walpurgis Royal Academy of Machinart, along with his automaton Yaya. Once every four years, the Academy holds the "Night Party", a competition where puppeteers use their automatons to fight in hopes of obtaining the title of "Wiseman".

She is the second of Shouko's Setsugetsuka sisters. It's hinted that Yaya is actually a machine doll, though it is unknown just how complete she is at the moment. Yaya, like Sigmund must also consume food to maintain her body functions. Raishin indentured himself to Shouko to become Yaya's Puppeteer.
Yaya suddenly warned Raishin of an approaching presence, and as Yaya and Raishin approached it, Raishin recognised it as Lisette, called out to her and asked her if she was searching for Charlotte.
