Most reputable schools in Canada have a masters program in mathematics. They usually divide the designation of applied and pure internally, so that it doesn't show up on the degree. That's how my current department does it. Other schools may have the designation on the degree.
While you might need to demonstrate sufficient knowledge if your undergraduate degree and your intended field are radically different, it's a lot easier (and cheaper) to demonstrate this knowledge than to acquire an entirely new bachelor's degree.
