- BIA-COR Holdings, Inc., a group of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, investors formed by the Paine Weber Group, forms BNAir, Inc, which is the entity that is used by the group to purchase the assets of Braniff, Inc., the second successor to Braniff Airways, Incorporated, and Braniff International Corporation.
In the spring of 1928, insurance magnate Thomas Elmer Braniff founded an air carrier, maintenance, aircraft dealer and flight school organization with his brother Paul, called Paul R. Braniff, Inc., which did business as Tulsa-Oklahoma City Airline.
Braniff was the only airline to order the 707-227; in 1971 it sold them to British West Indies Airways (BWIA), an airline based in the Caribbean. Boeing 720s were added in the early 1960s. In 1965 Braniff's fleet was about half jet, comprising 707s, 720s and British Aircraft Corporation BAC One-Eleven jetliners.
May 12, 2023 · Braniff International Airways was founded in 1930 by brothers Paul R. and Thomas E. Braniff in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. What started off as a small regional carrier providing passenger transport soon became a burgeoning airline after securing contracts for air mail routes.

Braniff Airways, Incorporated, and Braniff International Corporation are reorganized as Dalfort Corporation and the reorganized company is financed by Hyatt Hotels founder Jay A. Pritzker, who has invested $117.6 million USD in capital in the new entity and owns 80-percent of the company.
