Ripley, Joshua, of Windham, was one of the early settlers of the town, and was a commissioner there before 1697. He was a leading man, and well educated. He is the first of the name found in the. colony, and was probably the ancestor of those of the name in Connecticut. Wade, Robert, of Windham – died in 1696.
