The first known Branford post office was at the Lock Shop at the eastern end of Main Street in the early 1800s and successive offices were generally in the homes of the respective postmasters. Branford’s first permanent Post Office was built in 1912 at the corner of Main Street and Hillside Avenue under the guidance of Branford postmaster H. Guy Linsley.
The Harrison House on Main Street in Branford, Connecticut was built in 1724 by Nathaniel Harrison 2nd (1692-1760) having received the land from his father Nathaniel 1st (1658-1727). Nathaniel 1st was the grandson of Richard Harrison who settled in Branford from New Haven in 1645. The two Nathaniels were active in town and colony affairs.

Feb 25, 2015 · This review is for customer service, not at the post office, but for an internet/phone complaint. I lodged a complaint on the USPO website and detailed the problem with the mail delivery. I also left a message at the post office (after it rang for like 3 min, someone finally picked up the phone, the second time I was able to ring through, the party on the other end took a message).
