This is an iffy number, because it's obvious that sometimes the writers told the same stories in different ways to make different points to different audiences. Aug 2, 2022 · Only Mark choses to identify one of the beggars as Bartimaeus, perhaps because Bartimaeus was known to Mark’s readers, or they knew Bartimaeus’s father, Timaeus, whereas the other blind man was a stranger to them. In any case, the fact that Mark and Luke only mention one beggar does not contradict Matthew’s account.
