Kenneth Noland (born April 10, 1924, Asheville, N.C., U.S.—died Jan. 5, 2010, Port Clyde, Maine) was an American painter of the Abstract Expressionist school. He was one of the first to use the technique of staining the canvas with thinned paints and of deploying his colours in concentric rings and parallels, shaped and proportioned in relation to the shape of the canvas.
