The following year, eight of the best high school basketball teams in British Columbia were invited and thus the BC.boys’ tournament was born. In this inaugural, Vancouver College Fighting Irish captured their first Provincial Championship by defeating Kamloops 34-32. They repeated as winners in 1949, 1957, 1960 and 1967.
Recognition In 2000, Ron was named to BC’s All-time Best Basketball Players Dream Team alongside Steve Nash. The Vancouver Sun named Ron the 1980’s player of the decade. In 2015 the 1988 Colts team was inducted into the Richmond Sports Wall of Fame and in 2018; he was inducted to Basketball BC’s Hall of Fame.

He has taken Notre Dame Secondary, Terry Fox Secondary, Port Moody Secondary and G.P. Vanier Secondary to AAA Boys Provincials.
