Oct 21, 2022 · Because of literacy, distribution, and accessibility issues, most Filipinos don't get to view Filipino-made films that much apart from limited streaming platforms (which reminds me, Oro, Plata, Mata is on Netflix now, too, by the way). They don't exactly pop up on streaming services too often.
Quality filipino movies exist, but distribution and access to them can be hard especially if you're outside the Metro. That's why i have to salute the guys from TBA (one of which is the person behind Heneral Luna) for their efforts in spreading the love of filipino cinema with that site and their own little mini film theater, Cinema 76.

I do remember most of the indie movie producers nowadays use digital cameras and so can preserve the movie better. However the actual big movie studios actually still use the old cameras and then convert them (badly) into digital, usually resulting in really bad copies.
