This study aims to investigate difficulties face Saudi EFL students in learning and understanding English idioms, and examines the strategies they utilize to understand idioms.
Learning English idioms is possibly the hardest task to be achieved. According to Glucksberg (1993), understanding the meaning of the idioms may be known from the meaning of one of their subcomponents but usually, the meaning is totally different.
