It's a mix...the crash, very few "new" games, it wasn't out very long...I guess the real reason is that the Atari heads don't think there's enough love for the system to warrant the expenditure of making a 5200 flashback type system.
Dec 2, 2021 · The 5200, used many buttons, and two paddle functions per controller to provide analog control. There were enough paddle systems to do 4 analog joysticks, but not enough digital I/O to handle the many buttons.
Jan 11, 2020 · I'm looking for a list of all of the 5200 games that are PROPERLY PLAYED with an analog joystick. I did a bit of searching on this and before the standard spewing of games like Centipede, Missile Command and the likes, let me explain what I mean by PROPERLY PLAYED.
All Atari 2600 games work well (Except Star Raiders), since that system's controller had a single button. It is mapped to the a button on the joycon. I briefly tried the arcade games, but been focusing mostly on the 2600 and 5200 games.
Nov 6, 2024 · I've been thinking of using my Switch lite as a controller to play some games on my PC, as you could do with the WiiU gamepad and UsendMii. Not that it would be very practical, but I think it would be pretty fun anyways.
The 5200 also featured the innovation of the first automatic TV switchbox, allowing it to automatically switch from regular TV viewing to the game system signal when the system was activated. Previous RF adapters required the user to slide a switch on the adapter by hand.
