Jan 30, 2023 · There is a tradition that Paul went to Spain, but there is no record of this in the Bible. He did mention to the Romans that he wanted to take the gospel to Spain (Romans 15:24, 28). Clement of Rome’s AD 95 writings say Paul went to “the farthest limits of the West,” which could mean Spain or possibly the United Kingdom, and the Muratorian Canon (AD 180) says Paul went from Rome to Spain.
Whether Paul fulfilled his dream of evangelizing the East AND the West as far as Spain is tradition with positive evidence from the quotes of many authors through the centuries. This writer says, yes, Paul did go to Spain for several years after his first Roman imprisonment in c. 60-62.

Oct 12, 2017 · Paul’s ultimate goal was not to do ministry in Rome, but rather, he wanted to use the Roman church to help him to get to his goal of Spain, which we see in Romans 15:23-24. It appears that Rome was an integral part of his plan to get there, both financially and perhaps educationally, if Paul really did need help with speaking Latin.

Apr 14, 2015 · Paul had planned to visit Philemon (Philemon 22). But since Colossae was the opposite direction from Spain, and since we have some reason to believe that Paul traveled to Spain right after Rome, my guess is that Paul decided to forgo the visit to Philemon until after he completed his mission to Spain. So Paul traveled to Spain.
