Dec 14, 2023 · I’m loving my 2600+ so far, however I am noticing that games fail to load for me on a somewhat frequent basis. Doesn’t seem to be tied to any particular game and it seems to happen with original cartridges as well as new ones like Mr. Run and Jump.
Dec 14, 2023 · There have been two or three times when there was no loading failed message, but I got a black screen after the Atari logo went away. It was nothing turning the console off, pulling the cart out, putting it back in, and trying again couldn't fix.
Jan 24, 2024 · I ran my 2600 problem carts with the new files and there were a number that get past the Loading Game Failed loop now. They still don't work, but at least make it to a scrambled screen of some sort.
Nov 22, 2023 · The 2600+ will detect this, and blank out with the Game Load Failed message, but then a few seconds later it will show Game Loading... and the game you selected on the DF will now be playing on the 2600+.
Sometimes inserting, removing and reinserting the cartridge a few times does the trick. Worse case, the rom chip in the cartridge is bad (it’s rare but happens) and there’s little you can do to fix the cartridge (other than replacing the rom). Blow on them... just kidding.
