Luckily for players, there are a variety of solutions they can use in order to “cat-proof” their base, though choosing one will be based on their preference.
All cats within the village boundaries are counted, including baby cats, cats that wander in from outside, and tamed cats owned by a player. If the number of cats found is short of the quota, the village tries to spawn one cat or baby cat within a volume of 17×13×17 blocks centered on the village center.

My cats follow me around the house and lay on the floor legs out like a dog. But if Minecraft cats come from ocelots, they should be the cattiest cats that ever catted. If you wanted to really spend way too much time on this feature, they should do stuff like climb trees and leave beheaded chickens on your bed as presents.

Anyways, they started gathering on the open yard of my lil manor within the village and I had no clue why. I figured it might be the chest, since they love sitting on chests and beds. I got em off the chest, emptied it out and removed it.
