  1. Jan 4, 2022 · We are saved by grace, not by a mixture of God’s grace and our meritorious works. According to Scripture, we can do nothing to earn salvation, nor are our best efforts good enough to elicit a gracious response from God so that He will make up the difference. All of our righteous deeds are as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6).

  2. Oct 16, 2024 · We need something more powerful, and this is where grace comes in. The grace of God is His undeserved favor bestowed on those He has called to salvation through His love (Ephesians 2:4–5). It is His grace that saves us from sin. We are “justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24). Being ...

  3. Apr 16, 2021 · This affects my answer to your question. We are saved by grace alone. That is biblical. Actually, we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-10 and many more), but we understand that it is the grace that saves us and the faith only activates that grace. However, we are not saved by faith alone.

  4. Mar 29, 2024 · First, “it is by grace you have been saved.” If we are saved by grace, this means that it is not because we are good or deserving; rather, it is because God is good and gracious. Salvation is an amazing miracle we watch unfold in our lives. The view of salvation as a ticket to heaven or an escape-hell card ignores life here on earth. The salvation that Jesus secured with His death and resurrection is one that restores a believer’s oneness with God (Romans 5:10). This provision of unity ushers in wholeness, one piece of trut...

God’s grace is an undeserved gift for sinners. John 3:16 is one of the most quoted verses from the Bible and embodies the message of God’s grace. “For God so loved the world that He gave…” Gave. That’s a demonstration of grace because grace gives what is undeserved. Romans 5:17 says that it’s through “the abundance of grace and the gift of righteou...

God’s grace is so amazing we may have trouble believing it’s true. That’s where faith comes in. It’s so amazing it takes faith to receive it. 1. Believing God is as good as He says He is. 2. Believing His grace. 3. Believing Jesus came to personally deliver the grace of God to us. The salvation God offers us is freely ours if we’ll dare to believe ...

  5. God is not obligated to show us favor when we do good, and neither is God obligated to withhold grace when we do evil. Rather, God extends grace and mercy to those He chooses (Exodus 33:19, emphasis added throughout). So we do not and cannot automatically receive God’s grace. It is a gift from God. The need for grace

  7. We are maintained by God's grace, not our own efforts. As noted above, good works do result from salvation, but they are the fruit of God's work in us. We will still fail as believers, but God is faithful to forgive us (1 John 1:9). We can trust that we are justified by His grace and eternally secure in it (John 6:39–40).
