Feb 2, 2022 · That includes one of the novels' most powerful -- and memorable -- characters. Peeves the poltergeist, a staple of Hogwarts (for better or worse) in the J. K. Rowling books, was slated to appear in the movies as well. He was even cast and scenes were shot, with late actor Rik Mayall playing Peeves in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Despite their reduced appearances throughout the movie series, the Marauders are some of the most beloved characters for Harry Potter book fans. They consisted of ringleaders Sirius Black and James Potter, aka Padfoot and Prongs, with their best friends Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, aka Moony and Wormtail. The films introduced this quartet in Th...

After being named the fourth Triwizard Tournament contestant in The Goblet of Fire, Harry is interviewed by the Daily Prophet's shrewd and nosy reporter Rita Skeeter. Before their fifth year, Ron and Hermione's Hogwarts letters arrived with an extra present - a shiny prefect badge for each. Each was excited about the honor, but the appointments would only make Harry question his worth and feel left out - an emotion constant throughout The Order of the Phoenix. During The Order of the Phoenix, Ron snatched the Keeper position on the Gryffindor Quidditch team after practicing for hours on end with his new broomstick. Ron's most significant enemy wasn't any other student; it was his utter lack of confidence in himself and his skills. This self-doubt often ruined Gryffindor's chances of winning their inter-h...

There they visited a recently-injured Mr. Weasley. The Golden Trio, plus Ginny, wandered to the fourth floor, where aside from meeting their ...
The film adaptations mostly cut Sybill Trelawney, professor of Divination at Hogwarts, from the larger story. In the novels, professor Trelawney plays an essential role. Trelawney prophesied, "the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches." Snape heard this prophecy and told it to Voldemort, leading him to an attempt on baby Harry Pot...
While the Goblet of Fire movie revealed Barty Crouch Jr. as the Death Eater impersonating Moody, it never explained how he managed to escape the wizarding prison Azkaban. On the contrary, Lord of the Rings had to cut a CRAP LOAD of content to make it fit into a movie, but they did it much more deftly. The movies as they are are well-paced, well crafted, do not feel rushed, and have plenty of atmospheric details and character moments. Other than the first 3 movies, the HP movies drastically fail at this.
Well, movies 1-2 are primarily Hogwarts related (new to Hogwarts and Salazars secret chamber in the school). 3 is delving into more of Harry’s life and Sirus. 4 is the tournament. 5 is all about overcoming the man. 6 is about the soul anchors. 7 is the conclusion. I can kinda see how you feel like 3-7 loses it’s fun Hogwarts magicness.

There's no soul. It feels like it's just following a formula that was apparently set in place starting with OotP. On a side note, I really don't get why they've decided to go with Newt Scamander as a protagonist through this 5 movie series they claim they want to do. Of all the Potter lore, honestly, why go with him and that subject matter.
