@DanP It sounds like you have the Curt MV weight distribution hitch # C17051, which has a tongue weight range of 600 - 800lbs. The trailer fully loaded probably only has a tongue weight of 500 - 700lbs so when loaded you should fall within its range and not have an issue, unless it was setup incorrectly.
