Apr 22, 2020 · Death is ugly. God has so designed us that death is unnatural to us. We were meant to live and the human body fights death all the way. The final breath on earth seems so final, yet for the Christian it’s just the beginning! For those of us who are left, we feel the pang of death, and real emptiness. We don’t mourn for our loved ones, we ...
Sep 20, 2021 · Physical death is the outward sign of that eternal separation from God that is the Creator’s judgment on sin. That separation will only become deeper and more painful through the milestone event of dying, unless saving grace intervenes. Unconverted people do well, therefore, to fear death. It is in truth fearsome.

Jan 22, 2020 · Though we mourn, our mourning should be mixed with worship of God and thanksgiving for the life of the loved one who has died. In this video, a clip from my Eternity 101 class, I share a quote from Charles Spurgeon related to our loved ones who have died, and also discuss how it can’t be wrong to weep over death, since Jesus Himself did:
- What is your only comfort in life and death? That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ.
- How should Christians view death? Christians should view death as a great enemy and a tragic evil. [11] In God’s original created order, He did not intend for us to die.
- What is the meaning of death? Death signifies the brokenness of the world because of sin. Death shows us the devastating and just consequences of our refusal to love, worship, and obey the God who made us and who continually sustains us in existence.
- What are we tempted to believe concerning death? We are tempted to believe the lie of the deceiver, that we will not actually die. [20] In our youth we are tempted to believe that death is far off; we are tempted to live as if we will live forever.
Christians believe that death is not the end of our existence. That belief has shaped the Christian faith since Jesus Christ rose from the dead after his execution 2,000 years ago. This does not mean that Christians are somehow immune from or unaffected by the pain of grief and loss when a close friend or relative dies.
Apr 13, 2022 · Christian Hope in Life After Life After Death. There was a lot of death in 2021. Betty White, Larry King, Hank Aaron, Colin Powell, and John Madden all died. A friend my age died of a massive heart attack. Two people in my social circle both died of COVID-19. Lots and lots of people died of COVID-19. And now there’s a war in Ukraine.

Aug 20, 2021 · The Bible speaks of death as the end, as severer, punishment, and enemy—the last enemy, in fact (1 Cor 15:26). And the last bit of bad news is that this last enemy will defeat us. Always. “Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing.”. Luther’s hymn puts the matter starkly and accurately.
