Mar 17, 2024 · I am unable to update Minecraft Bedrock Edition to the latest version 1.20.70. I have 1.20.62, which was installed. I have tried many methods to update, including uninstalling the game and launcher and installing through the Windows store and Xbox app, but every time it installs, it still installs 1.20.62.

Update 2: It seems that around 09:00+0000 (GMT) the update for Windows is now available. Check the title screen to see if you're on the latest version. If not, close the game, open the Windows Store, go to Library. If the update is listed as available you can apply it, or click "Get updates" to check for the update and install it.
This seems like a terrible system for releasing updates since there is no compatability between versions. I read somewhere that the update has to go through a Microsoft Security check... but you would think there would be a way to coordinate and schedule the release so that MS has time to approve the update before go-live, instead of some platforms receiving it and others needing to wait.
Update on March 22: Minecraft: Bedrock Edition updates are once again available on Windows, allowing access to Realms and multiplayer. The game can now be updated to version 1.20.72. The game can now be updated to version 1.20.72.
