The original plan was to have a bus station as near as possible to every corner of Brasilia. Today, the bus station is the hub of urban buses only, some running within Brasilia and others connecting Brasilia to the satellite cities. In the original city plan, the interstate buses would also stop at the Central Station.

On September 7th 1922, the first stone of Brasília is laid, in a spot which today is administered by Planaltina, one of the satellite cities of Brasília. In the term of President Eurico Gaspar Dutra (1946-1950), Brazil was living a prosperous period (the war had approached Brazil and USA), and the changing of capital left the paper to become reality.
