- The Walt Disney Company Is Created In 1923. In 1921, Walt Disney and his friend and animator Ub Iwerks founded the film studio Laugh-O-Gram, through which they made a short film titled Alice’s Wonderland, where child actor Virginia Davis interacted with animated characters.
