Just don't try to emulate FNaF unless you can take away the scary parts.
My personal reason for finding FNAF4 to the scariest is the game setting is childhood trauma. I used to sleep in a room that looked really similar to the FNAF4 whenever i was over at my grandparent's place and i carry a lot of trauma from that so being in a place very similar to that is an instant trigger.

If you hear vent noises from both sides, switch sides every 3 seconds or so, starting with the vent that made sounds first. This worked for me 95% of the time. Sorry, I write a lot.
