With the update dropping next week, I am sure many of us are starting brand new worlds. What are your first must haves in a new world? Thinking farms, items, systems, really anything.
- Crop Farm
- Wool Farm
- Ore Farm
- Sugar Cane Farm
- Mob Farms
Crop farms, thus far, have largely been able to only automate one half of the farming process: collection. They can't really automate the planting process, but by using water and pistons and hoppers, players can set the farm to automatically wash away the crops. This will drop them in the hoppers and then into chests. Players do have to plant them ...
This one can be tricky because getting a sheep into a one block space can be difficult. Once it's done, though, it's a great farm to get wool, which can be used for crafting and trading to shepherd villagers. It's a slower process because it requires the wool to grow back, but it's easier than doing it manually.
One thing that the update changed was the frequency of ore spawns, especially diamonds. For the ores that drop raw items, like copper and iron, automatic smelting farms are great. Minecraftplayers can use hoppers, chests and furnaces to make a very useful automatic farm for their ores and raw items so they can do other tasks and not have to worry a...
Sugar cane is one of the most useful items in survival, whether for crafting books, making sugar or trading with librarians for emeralds. Having an automatic sugar cane farm is one of the best ways to get it without having to wait and farm it manually. That stays true after the 1.18update. Players can use pistons, observers and dispensers (for bone...
Mob farms got a little bit more difficult with the 1.18 update. Hostile mobs no longer spawn at anything but a light level of zero. They're even harder to make now, but they're still worthwhile because of the loot that mobs drop. Making one requires a lot of materials, but it'll be the most useful farm for Survival. Which of these is the most usefu...

- Glow berry farm. Just like glow lichen, glow berries are another light source item being added to the game. With the Minecraft 1.18 update, these will naturally generate in the lush cave biome.
- Glow lichen farm. Glow lichens are a new light source in Minecraft. As these are uncommonly found in dark and dangerous caves, players can make great farms for the item so they won't have to keep looking for them.
- Dripleaf farm. Dripleaf is a new item added to Minecraft with the Caves and Cliffs update. It can only be found in the lush cave biome coming in the Minecraft 1.18 update.
- Amethyst shard farm. However, Amethyst is common in Minecraft 1.17. Amethyst shards inside the geodes can be considered a great item to farm in Minecraft 1.18 update.

- Mob Farms. Experience is a great thing to have in Minecraft, as it allows players to convert XP levels into essentials like enchantments or equipment repairs.
- Villager Farms. Villagers can be incredibly helpful mobs for Minecraft players, especially because villager professions exist. Thanks to these professions, players are capable of trading different items for Emeralds and vice versa.
- Wood Farms. Wood, like previous entries on this list, is one of those materials that Minecraft players don't do so well without. Not only can wood be fashioned into various decoration blocks, it is also vital for the creation of sticks, which are used to make most of the tools in the game.
- Iron Farms. Much like food items, iron is a vital resource in Minecraft survival. It is a core crafting component not only for tools but for many other Minecraft blocks and items, so it's a good idea to keep a stock available.
The enchants. These enchants can be very, VERY useful for anyone who really wants to make a big farm. A. Farm Walker. The farm walker enchant will auto-make farm land, which can be useful. This will be a later game enchant, so hoes can still be used, but there is a catch to. You can not put the enchant with mending, and can only heal it with a hoe.

This is really helping me plan my farm. I really like how you made the farm look by adding the domes. I don't think I've seen one that was made to look good! The description of how the location chosen and path finding works makes perfect sense. Having only 8 trap doors might even make it more efficient as you said in the picture description.
