Mar 27, 2024 · Rather than appearing as a triumphant ruler, Jesus chose to embody humility by taking on the role of a gentle lamb. The title Lamb of God puts a direct spotlight onto the primary mission for which Jesus came. He came to sacrificially offer his life for the redemption of humanity. More personally, he came to die for you and me.
The Lion of Judah conquered because he was willing to act the part of a Lamb. He came into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday like a King on the way to a throne, and he went out of Jerusalem on Good Friday like a Lamb on the way to the slaughter. He drove out the robbers from the Temple like a Lion devouring its prey.
