- Mary was a woman of great courage and faith who was asked to bring about the promise of God on earth through mothering Jesus. She can be a great inspiration when God calls us to do big things. Instead of telling God "no" because of our fear, we can be like Mary and humbly offer our "yes, Lord, May it be as You said" with our whole hearts.

Nov 13, 2023 · Why Did God Choose Mary as the Mother of Jesus? God chose Mary to care for and teach Jesus, the Savior of the World. Yes, her heart would break, as all mothers do, but she also knew the joy of being an instrumental part of God’s redemptive plan for all humanity.
Mary serves as a link between the two Covenants not just through parallel or prophetic verses but by embodying common themes. She is a bridge between the Old and the New Testaments because Scripture shows her representing both the people of Israel and the Church begun by her Son.
- Jesus Chose Mary Because of Her Obedience. The first reason Jesus chose Mary is because of her obedience. Mary was a young virgin woman when she was carrying Jesus because it was a divine pregnancy and birth.
- Jesus Chose Mary Because of Her Lineage. A second reason why Jesus chose Mary was because of her lineage. Mary’s lineage directly traced back through David, Judah, and Jacob (Luke 3:23-38).
- Jesus Chooses Us Because He Loves Us. In addition to choosing Mary, Jesus chooses each of us because He loves us. Even though we are not the chosen one to carry the Lord, Jesus has unique and important purposes for each of our lives.
- Jesus Chooses Us to Be His Lights to the World. A fourth reason why Jesus chooses us is to be His light to the world. Jesus tells us, “You are the light of the world.

But if Jesus can grant salvation, why can't Mary, the 'mother of God'? Firstly, your life began when your mother conceived you, but that isn't the case for Jesus, who was God in heaven before time began (see John 1:1); Mary is simply the vessel through whom God chose to enter humanity, not the origin of His existence.
Mary's most fundamental privilege is that of being the Mother of God. We do not mean she produced the divine nature, of course. But her Son is God, so she is the Mother of God. Similarly, Mrs. Jones shares only in the production of the body of her son John, not at all in the making of his soul.
