1. From the outdoor pool parking lot, head north. On Google Maps, you’ll see an icon called the “Peace Mile.” This is where the trail begins. This section of the Mill Creek trail was dedicated to “honour world leaders in their pursuit for Peace during 1986, the United Nations International Year for Peace.”
Mill Creek Ravine is located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and is a part of the River Valley parks and trail system. It contains the last stretch of Mill Creek, before it flows into a culvert for its end run to the North Saskatchewan River .
This work will require closures of the trails located in the Mill Creek Ravine area, with detours in place, in order to accommodate bridge and staircase replacements. 2. You will arrive at a service road and a house. To the right is a picnic area. You can head towards the picnic area, and at the fork, take the road and wide trail leading left and slightly uphill. If you take the path on the right, you can walk to Gallagher Park and the North Saskatchewan River (a Trail Trek blog for another day!)

The bridge was originally constructed in 1902. The Mill Creek Trestle Bridge structure was part of an early rail connection between the towns of Strathcona and Edmonton and remains a valuable part of the Edmonton River Valley trail system. The existing bridge has reached the end of its service life, and replacement of the bridge is being planned.
