If you're using Opera GX and have background music turned on, make sure to disable "Dynamic audio visualiser". Also, make sure you're not using Razor Chroma stuff as that uses extra resources. Make sure VPN is turned off. Enabling VPN makes the browser super laggy.

Blame apple - they popularised the walled garden approach, and obviously because they sell well, everyone else has to abandon good ideas to copy them and impose new design on users, and now we can't have actual themes that change appearance, because we just can't.
