It looks like Opera is running each tab as its own process instance, so that if something crashes, it won't kill your entire browser, and you can just close the stuck tab. Safari, and most modern browsers do the same:
Opera is the only browser I have this issue with, it's literal trash. I cleared some cache, and it's STILL slow. I just switched from Chrome to Opera for security reasons, which makes me want to switch back with how slow it is crashing. Im on MacBook.
If you're using Opera GX and have background music turned on, make sure to disable "Dynamic audio visualiser". Also, make sure you're not using Razor Chroma stuff as that uses extra resources. Make sure VPN is turned off. Enabling VPN makes the browser super laggy.
