Thank you all for the tips and explanation. I never noticed this on my desktop because I have 32gb of RAM, which doesn't even touch it. What I've done for now is switch to Opera GX, which is a Opera browser made for playing games, where you can limit the resources your browser takes. I limited it at 3GB and it's running fine now.
