It’s warm, smooth and laid back, but with plenty sparkle and air up top. Overall it’s a well-balanced, neutral sound signature.
Why are you considering the Empyrean on particular? Generally when people are looking at super expensive headphones like that they are looking for improvements in specific areas like soundstage or bass extension. If you’re expecting a massive improvement in every category from the 6XX I’d be really really hesitant.
This seems about right. The Empyrean and elite aren't supposed to be amazing technical performers, they're a very lush, just sit back and relax kind of headphone. Nov 8, 2023 · New is the mention of “II” on the headband. Where the original Empyrean had a glossy yoke and ear cup finish, the Empyrean 2 this time round has a matte black finish. The vertical rod on the head band is now in shiny black and it has a grey accent on top. The side plate on the yoke now is silver and it’s showing the Meze Audio logo.
